Meet Olivia
Hello there! I bet you are here for the same reason I would seek out an ‘About me’ page: to feel out a possible therapist, read through their experience and try to make sense of it, and decide if I am willing to move forward with what they are promising. I will do my best to speak to all of these things, but know that I am an open book and the opportunity to ask questions is always there.
My experience in the therapy field has given me many diverse opportunities. I have worked as a social worker linking people to services and resources and as a clinical coordinator of care for populations managing mental health concerns as well as cognitive disabilities. I have been a community behavioral health clinician providing individual and group therapy as well as working on an integrated care team with physical health providers.
My professional and personal life has taken many interesting turns, which led me to my private practice today. I work with adult clients, clinicians, and help facilitate EMDR trainings as well as many other creative projects that support my therapy work as well as my own inner world mapping. My experience with EMDR gravitates me towards clients seeking EMDR for either single incident or multiple/complex trauma events. Many therapists have found their way to me as clients, which has grown into a population with which I thrive and welcome with open arms.
Another sacred space I have made my way to as a mother and daughter is working with perinatal populations. We are often under-served and our resiliency is over-utilized. The pain and struggle of adapting to so much change is downplayed as a ‘rite of passage’. This can lead to burnout, opening of old wounds, or creation of new ones. I want to name these experiences and allow space for identity to shift, for new roles to be defined, and to create compassion in asking for what we need.
So that is a glimpse of where our therapy might take us! Unlearning and relearning, shining a light on neglected spaces, finding your way to the version of you that serves you best in this world.
What Can I Expect from Therapy?
Our first session (or first few) will start our discussion of who you are, how you came to be yourself, and what your present needs are for our time together. We will work to gain some ease in our sessions and establish how we will work on your therapeutic goals.
My therapy specialities and experience come from a personal and clinical perspective. I feel that this enriches our experience together and can ground the work from a real, authentic, lived space. I am a partner, parent, and life-long learner of how to handle my own mental health and use that along with my therapeutic skills to guide our work.
Ready to Start?
Send me a quick message and I will get back to you with next steps.
