Trauma is about loss of connection…

Why choose EMDR?

In the wide world of therapy specialties, there are many that you may have already found yourself wading through, trying to find the approach that is a good fit. And many of those modalities are really great! I should know, I have trained in many of them. Throughout the years, I noticed that although these methods were effective, my work with clients often left me feeling like there was something we had missed in our time together. I felt this way as a therapist and I felt this way as a client in my own therapy, which led me to try out EMDR for myself. I had felt stuck in patterns and experiences that were hindering any forward momentum and honestly left me feeling miserable. So I took the leap and gave EMDR a try, and it cracked my world wide open.

Since my personal experience was so profound, I decided to train in the modality and bring it to my clients…and I haven’t looked back! The approach that EMDR takes to understanding trauma and the way it impacts our brain allows us to follow what inherently works for you, what speaks to your needs as an individual, and gives us the opportunity to rework old patterns and experiences into something that serves you with purpose. There is a lot more to it than that of course, and if you decide to move forward with EMDR, I will make sure we take the time to answer any questions you may have.
